The Management and Economics Club (MEC) presented throughout the year a program of successful activities in order to raise the awareness of Bilkent students to the world of business. During the month of May the activities were not only related to the business world but varied within a wide range of activities from backgammon tournaments to a concert.

The backgammon tournament and a concert by the Group Sendrom were held during the Spring Festival. Over 100 people participated in the backgammon tournament 'MEC-Tavla' and the first prize was won by Eray Tuzun, the second and third places were won by Ersin Gundoglu and Murat Nadastepe.

MEC, in association with the Honor Society, organized a panel on 'Quality Concept and Total Quality Management' with the participation of executives from Arcelik, TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industry) and Kalder. On May 15, in association with the Young Entrepreneurs Society and Genc-Der (Genc ‚orumlular Dernegi), a conference on 'Organization Theory.' was also held. The participants were Korhan Yaylaci (Industrial Engineering Dept., Gazi University.) Ercan Abuhanoglu (Dept. of Management, Hacettepe University).

The Inter-University debates continued with Bilkent-MEC team winning the debate against Bogazici University team and the Marmara University team won the debate against Bilkent.

The club organized visits to the General Directorate of Anadolu Finans Kurumu and Is Bankasi. The club, in association with KAYIYEM, has produced a catalog that introduces the top companies in Turkey to students. The catalog will be available in June.
