Bilkent Center for Bioinformatics (BCBI) has been founded in 2002 with
contributions of
Department of Computer Engineering and
Department of Molecular Biology and
Genetics of Bilkent University with
the following main goals:
- To be an attractive center for students and faculty who want to perform
research & development in the field of bioinformatics, which is an
emerging
science of managing and analyzing biological data using advanced computing
techniques.
- To support undergraduate and graduate education by offering lectures
in bioinformatics.
- To establish a graduate-level bioinformatics program in the long term.
- To organize and conduct seminars and workshops, create opportunities
for dissemination of knowledge among researchers both nation-wide and world-wide.
