BiographyAssistant Professor Dr. Vahit Bıçak, who has worked in a number of Turkish universities including Bilkent University and Hacettepe University, has been a lecturer in criminal procedure law at the Police Academy since 1990. He studied law at the University of Ankara. In 1996 he became a doctor in law with a thesis on improperly obtained evidence. He received his PhD from the University of Nottingham, has represented Turkey at the Council of Europe, and had co-edited, and contributed to, books on Turkish law. He also contributes to the International Encyclopaedia of Laws (published by Kluwer Law International). He had been at the European Court of Human Rights as a trainee lawyer. He is a member of the editorial board of the Liberal Thought, a quartely academic journal. Address: Doc.
