| Güliz Ger GÜLIZ GER is Professor of Marketing and Associate Provost at Bilkent University, Turkey. She has her PhD from Northwestern University, MBA from METU, and BS in psychology from University of Illinois. She has been a Visiting Professor or scholar at University of Sydney, CEIBS (China), INSEAD and Theseus in France, Southern Denmark University, London Business School, and Columbia, Michigan State, and Northwestern Universities in the USA. Ger has publications in journals such as Journal of Consumer Research, California Management Review, Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Consumer Policy, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Journal of Material Culture, Journal of European Ethnology, and volumes including Handbook of Qualitative Research Methods in Marketing, Clothing as Material Culture, The Why of Consumption. She is the coeditor of Consumption in Marketizing Economies. Her research interests involve the sociocultural dimensions of consumption, consumption and marketing in transitional societies/groups, and the related issues of globalization, modernity and tradition. Ger is a former president of the International Society for Marketing and Development and a member of its Board of Directors. She is a former Departmental Editor of the Journal of International Business Studies and serves on the review boards of various journals. She has done executive development workshops and consulting in Turkey and abroad. |
