The MA TEFL 20th ANNIVERSARY REUNION CONFERENCE

"ELT in Turkey: Looking Ahead to the Next 20 Years"

The conference will be held on June 27 th - 28 th, 2008, with a pre-conference event for alumni on the evening of the 26 th.

The MA TEFL 20 th Anniversary Reunion Conference is being held to celebrate the first two decades of the MA TEFL Program at Bilkent University. We will be highlighting the many contributions that the MA TEFL program and its graduates have made and continue to make to the field of ELT in Turkey, and for attending alumni, the conference will be an opportunity to meet with old friends and make new ones within the MA TEFL family. For non-alumni attendees and participants, the conference will provide a chance to learn about and discuss issues related to ELT in Turkey-its practice, its complications, and its future-and to share these ideas with teachers and administrators from all regions of the country as well as with international experts.

The conference will broadly allow for presentations and discussion on issues related to ELT teaching, program administration, and EFL teacher training, within the framework of three different formats:

• PAPERS (40 minute presentations of current research)
• WORKSHOPS (1 hour workshop presentations of innovative and effective practices)
• ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS (1 hour panel discussions and Q/A, on current issues in ELT in Turkey)
