COMMENTS FROM OUR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

"My experience as an exchange student at Bilkent University was really great! The people from the international exchange programme at Bilkent helped me with everything. I have met a lot of new people and made a lot of friends. Besides going to the classes I have seen a lot of the country during the weekends. A great experience which I can recommend anyone!"

"It's been 8 months since I left Bilkent but I'm still dreaming about Turkey.
You didn't experience hospitality until you've been here."

"I strongly believe that Bilkent University offers superb education backed by its distinguished and first-rate faculty and staff. I truly had a pleasant time at Bilkent University. I learned a lot at Bilkent, particularly, some of Turkey's great history and culture. Moreover, my stay at Bilkent was a unique one. "The one factor that made my year at Bilkent and in Turkey so enjoyable was the hospitality of
everyone, especially the staff at the international exchange office and the students of the
international club. They worked extremely hard to make sure that the exchange students felt
welcome and made friends. You won't be lonely if you come to Turkey."

"One of the great things about Bilkent is that all faculties are close to
each other and many courses are offered to exchange students, giving you a
wide variety to choose from. Apart from that Ankara is a brilliant starting
point to explore Turkey, don't miss out: Travel!"

"I feel that I am in the lap of luxury. I was expecting the classes to be larger. None of my classes number more than 20 students, and one is as small as 6 or 7. I wasn't expecting the teachers to be so enthusiastic about having foreign exchange students in their classes, but I have received a great deal of support from all my professors. I was surprised to find that the culture here is so Westernized."

I decided to come to Bilkent because my professors at my university in America told me what a good school Bilkent is and that Bilkent has a very strong Archaeology Department. Everyone that I have met here are very friendly and helpful. I have been able to do a lot of travelling and everyone in this country has been incredibly friendly and helpful. Bilkent offers many activities, and I have found that everyone can find something to do here."

"Bilkent offers a unique opportunity to study the history of Turkey in a renowned and English-speaking University in the heart of Anatolia. The University offers a wide selection of history and language courses that will prove invaluable for an academic career. Above all of this, the professors and students have been most helpful and kind."

"I decided to come to Turkey because I wanted to experience a culture that was very different from my own. So far I have not been dissapointed. Turkey has a very rich culture, a beautiful language, great food and music. In addition, the Turkish people have been very kind and hospitable. I chose Bilkent Univ. because it has an excellent reputation. The teachers are well renowned and the facilities are state of the art. I am very impressed by the Campus."

Sema Burney, Exchange Prog. Graduate Student / McGill University

What country would be better than one that exists on the crossroads between Asia, Europe, and the Middle East? Bilkent offers an art history program perfectly suited to my academic needs as well as a slew of courses which appeal to my other interests, such as history, drawing and Turkish. Ankara is a convenient hub from which to travel around the rest of Turkey. I never imagined that travel within Turkey would be so accessible to foreign students in terms of transportation and costs. Turks are abundantly generous people, who demonstrate their famous hospitality in countless ways."
