Vice Rector for Student Affairs and the Turkish National Underwater Photography Team member Prof. Orhan Aytür received one gold and two bronze medals at the CMAS (Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques / World Underwater Confederation) 13th Underwater Photography World Championship and was awarded the title of World Champion.
Prof. Aytür, together with his dive buddy Asım Dumlu, received first prize in the Wide Angle with a Model Photograph Category and also ranked 3rd both in the Fish Category and the Macro with Theme Category and became the Best Photographer of the World with 101 total points in five categories.
The CMAS 13th Underwater Photography World Championship was held in Bodrum between May 26 - 31 with the participation of 41 photographers from 23 nations.
Prof. Aytür started underwater photography in 2000 and joined the Turkish National Underwater Photography Team after becoming the national champion in 2006.
