Nine Bilkent faculty members are among the scientists to have received 2013 and 2014 Outstanding Young Scientist Awards from the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).

The Bilkent awardees are: Asst. Prof. Deniz Atasoy (Molecular Biology and Genetics); Asst. Prof. Mehmet Z. Baykara (Mechanical Engineering); Assoc. Prof. Sinan Gezici (Electrical and Electronics Engineering); Asst. Prof. Ali Kemal Okyay (Electrical and Electronics Engineering); Asst. Prof. Bülend Ortaç (UNAM); Asst. Prof. Urartu Özgür Şafak Şeker (UNAM); Asst. Prof. Özgür Şahin (Molecular Biology and Genetics); Asst. Prof. Özgün Ünlü (Mathematics); and Asst. Prof. Giovanni Volpe (Physics).

TÜBA introduced the Program to Award Young Scientists (GEBİP) in 2001 to recognize and support outstanding researchers in fields within the natural and social sciences, engineering and medicine.
