StarOffice

you have a CD drive on your computer...
Please contact BCC (hotline@bilkent.edu.tr) (phone: 2555) to borrow a
StarOffice CD.
Disk Space
Requirements:
To install StarOffice from a CD, you will need to
have about 120 MBytes of free disk space (full
installation).
Installation:
Insert the CD to your drive and start the SETUP.EXE
program.Installation is fairly easy; just follow the
instructions on your screen and choose default
option(s)-Next buttons in every window you are
prompted. Filling out the user info form screen is
optional but we recommend you at least fill out your
name and e-mail address.
To
download the StarOffice installation program set from
Bilkent FTP serves, please choose one of the following:
- Install set split
into 10 pieces
- so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-000.exe (10 MBytes)
- so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-001.bin (10 MBytes)
- so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-002.bin (10 MBytes)
- so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-003.bin (10 MBytes)
- so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-004.bin (10 MBytes)
- so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-005.bin (10 MBytes)
- so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-006.bin (10 MBytes)
- so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-007.bin (8.5 MBytes)
- soa-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en.exe (12 MBytes)
- sop-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en.exe (6.6 MBytes)
Download the
installation file(s) to a temporary directory on
your PC. C:\TEMP or C:\WINDOWS\TEMP can be good
place to put your install files. Please note that
it is important to download the files to a
temporary directory. If you have download
problems with these EXE and bin files; for
example if your browser is displaying garbage
looking text rather than prompting you for a
location to save the files, try clicking the
above links while pressing the Shift key on your
keyboard.
Disk
Space Requirements:
To
download the StarOffice install program(s) from the
network, you will need to have about 180
MBytes of free disk space (about 65 MB for
the install set and the rest for the actual program).
Once the installation is complete,
you can remove the install set from your computer to
recover the 65 MB space.
Once
the downloads are completed:
When all
the install files are downloaded to the temporary
directory, run so-5_2-ga-bin-windows-en-000.exe once
This program will install StarOffice 5.2 on your computer.
The rest is fairly
easy; just follow the instructions on your screen and
choose default option(s)-Next buttons in every window
you are prompted. Filling out the user info form
screen is optional but we recommend you at least fill
out your name and e-mail address.
