Installation Tips A very typical Installation bug/problem (effective if your Windows requires you to logon to some NT/Samba server) While you are installing StarOffice, you will be prompted to make some selections. The prompt screens and suggested selections are as follows :
Fill out the form as you like. You can leave everything blank and just click Next too but we recommend you to fill the Company, Name and e-mail fields.
If you select "Custom Install" here you will be prompted to make selections from a quite complicated set of options. If you have enough disk space, we recommend thaty ou select "Standard Install".
You have to choose a directory for your StarOffice files. C:\Office51 or D:\Staroffice are reasonable selections.
At this point the install program detects for any installed Java engine on your PC. If it finds one (most probably it will) it will display a screen like the one above. Whatever the prompt screen is, you can click the OK button to proceed.
YES! You should restart your system. Click the Restart button. |
