2002: Translated three articles from Turkish for The Turks (Ankara: Yeni Türkiye Dergisi Yay., 2001); the titles of the translations and the original authors were: “Science in the First Muslim Turkish States” by E. Kahya and H. G. Topdemir; “The Effects of the State Radio on the Turkish Music in the Republican Period” by B. Aksoy; “The Republic of Kazakhstan” by M. Kazıbaev and S. Majitov.

2001: Translated three articles from English for Türkler, (Ankara: Yeni Türkiye Dergisi Yay., 2001); the titles of the translations and the original authors were: “Slavlar ile Avarlar Aras ındaki İlişkiler, 579-626” by T. Zivkovic; “Göktürkler’de Türk Olmayan Bazı Unsurlar (MS 6 ila 8nci Yüzyıllar)” by D. Sinor; “Osmanlıların Otranto ve Apulia Seferi (1480-1481)” by K. Giakoumis.

1999: Translated the article “The Turks of Croatia,” by Yusuf Hamzaoglu, from Turkish, in The Great Ottoman, Turkish Civilization, (Ankara: Yeni Türkiye Dergisi Yay., 2000)

 

Travels:

1994, June-August: Overland trip through Iran, Pakistan, and India. Visited three “Golden Temples:” the tomb of Imam Riza in Mashhad, the Sikh temple in Amritsar, and the Hindu temple in Varanasi.

1995, July-August: Traveled to Egypt via Syria and Jordan, returning through Israel to visit Jerusalem.

1996-1997: Traveled extensively in the northeastern US, visiting Boston, Philadelphia, Niagara Falls, and Washington DC.

1998, June-August: Overland trip to ex-Soviet Union, starting from St Petersburg to Irkutsk in Russia, and journeying through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. Returned via Iran, visiting Mashhad, Isfahan, and Tebriz.

In addition, traveled extensively at various times within Turkey.
