Short Profile
Edward P. Kohn, assistant professor of History and chair of the Department of American Culture and Literature, received his Ph.D. from McGill University, Montreal, in 2000. He received his BA from Harvard University in 1990, and his MA the following year from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, where he attended on a Fulbright Scholarship. A political and diplomatic historian, he has recently published articles looking at Theodore Roosevelt's early political career in New York City. Professor Kohn's last book was Hot Time in the Old Town: New York's Great Heat Wave of 1896 and the Making of Theodore Roosevelt. He is currently working on a new book on Theodore Roosevelt and New York City, due out with Basic Books in 2013.
