Center for Russian Studies of the International Relations Department
of Bilkent University presents Call
for Applications for 2007/2008 Master’s Degree Program in
International Relations-Russian Studies track.
Master of International Relations and
Russian Studies at Bilkent is an intensive
two-year program focusing not only on Russia proper but the greater
“Eurasian” landmass where the Russian Empire, at the beginning of the
20th century, ruled over. The program starts with a
12-hours-a-week intensive Russian
language training and the fundamentals of Russian history, politics,
economics, demography, and international relations. Students at the
programme are also encouraged to focus their research on the Caucasus,
Central Asia, and Black Sea regions. The teaching activities involve renowned
scholars coming from Russia, the US, and Europe. The students are able to
take elective courses from a very wide range of Bilkent offerings. Bilkent is also the center of attraction
for many heads of states, leaders and politicians visiting Ankara for
delivering lectures, seminars and conferences. The Russian Studies Programme is able to
offer a limited number of full and
half tuition waivers and research assistantships based on the merit of
