Postdoctoral
Position
We are seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position in ultrafast fiber lasers and optical frequency metrology. The project focuses on development and applications of novel fiber and nonlinear optics techniques to optical clocks and next-generation accelerators currently under construction in Europe. Prospective candidates should have a PhD in physics, electrical engineering or a related field, experience with lasers and a strong background in RF electronics. Prior experience with frequency metrology techniques is beneficial. Prospective candidates should be able to work alone on independent projects, as well as lead and organize larger activities consisting of several graduate students.
The position is supported through a Marie Curie IRG and available beginning October 1, 2007. Appointments are initially for one year with possibility for extension. Salary is competitive and dependent on degree of experience.
