Our mission is to be a center of excellence for cancer research in Turkey and in the region. Also, we have the intention to becoming a ressource center for cancer researchers by offering them screening services and research tools, as well as access to bioinformatics, lab equipment and protocols.
We carry out translational cancer research at BilGen with a special focus on the identification of novel cancer genes that can serve as specific targets for the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
Bilgen has been or is being supported by research funds from State Planning Organization (DPT), the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), the Technology Development Foundation of Turkey (TTGV), Bilkent Holding and Bilkent University. To be able to provide the answers to cancer prevention and cure, we continue to rely on the support of public/private funding organizations. Donations from individuals and charity organizations are also wellcome.
