| Ibrahim Kimukin was born in Edirne, Turkey in 1976. He received the B.S degree in physics from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey in 1997. He joined the Bilkent University for his graduate education same year. During his master thesis work he concentrated on optical modeling and fabrication of photodetectors and thin film mirrors for resonant cavity photodetectors. His master thesis was about "Long wavelength GaAs based hot electron photoemission detectors". During his Ph.D work he concentrated on high speed and high efficiency near- and mid-infrared photodetectors. In his research work, he designed, fabricated and tested photodetectors grown with III-V semiconductor materials such as GaAs, AlAs, AlGaAs, InGaAs, InAlAs, InP, InGaAsP, InAs, InSb, and GaSb. He also worked on wide-bandgap materials such as GaN, and AlGaN for high-performance solar blind photodetectors. During his research he (co)authored more than 30 journal article and conference proceedings. | |
