Open Rank Faculty Position in Teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language or Applied Linguistics

Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) program at Bilkent University invites applications for a full-time position. This is an open rank position; all qualified applicants at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor levels will be considered.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate degree in Teaching English as a Foreign or Second Language (TEFL or TESL), or Applied Linguistics. Preference will be given to applicants who have a publication record in reputable journals, and a strong research agenda. Earned teaching certificate or experience of teaching English as a Second/Foreign language is an asset.

Duties associated with this position include teaching graduate courses, supervising graduate theses, maintaining active scholarly work in the field, and serving on department or university level committees.

It is now firmly established as one of the premier TEFL programs in Turkey, with an emphasis on both research and promoting the professional development of practicing teachers. Over 30 years, hundreds of teachers from around the country have successfully completed the MA TEFL program, and many of them are now holding leadership and/or academic positions at reputable institutions.
