1945 yılında Konya'da doğdu.1968'de Gazi Eğitim Enstitüsü Resim-İş Bölümü'nü bitirdi. 1970'de Milli Eğitim Bakanlığının açtığı sınavı kazanarak ihtisas için yurt dışına gönderildi. 1975 yılında Kassel Devlet Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi'ni bitirdi ve akademide "Graphic Design" alanında ihtisas yaptı. 1975 yılında yurda dönerek Gazi Eğitim Enstitüsü Resim-İş Eğitimi Bölümü'nde göreve başladı. 1984 yılında aynı üniversitede sanatta yeterlilik, 1987 yılında da Doçent ünvanını aldı. Halen Bilkent üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar, Tasarım ve Mimarlık Fakültesi Öğretim Üyesidir.

He was born in Konya in 1945 and graduated in 1968 from the Drawing and Handicrafts Department of Gazi Education Institute.In 1970, he was sent abroad for specialisation training after having succeededin the examination arranged by the Ministry of National Education.In 1975, he graduated from the Kassel Academy of Fine Arts where he specialisedin the field of graphic design. He returned home the same year and began workingat the Drawing and Handicrafts Department of the Gazi Education Institute.He received in 1984 the post graduate degree at the same Institute which wasthen converted into an university and became an associate professor there in 1987.Presently, he is a faculty member at the 'Department of Fine Arts, Design and Architectureof the Bilkent University.
