Osman Alp received his Ph. D. degree in Industrial Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara Turkey in year 2000. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow and sessional instructor in the School of Business, University of Alberta until 2003. He was also a member of the Center of Excellence in Operations of University of Alberta. He joined Industrial Engineering Department of Bilkent University, Ankara Turkey in 2003 and is still working in this department as an Assistant Professor. His main research interests include deterministic and stochastic modeling of inventory management; integrated transportation and inventory management problems; integrated capacity and inventory management problems;  and transportation of hazardous materials. He has published papers in Operations Research, Transportation Science, Interfaces, IIE Transactions, Computers & OR, European Journal of Operational Research, OR Spectrum, International Journal of Production Research, and Annals of Operations Research. He is currently a member of the Advisory Board of Computers & OR and the Editorial Board of Industrial Engineering Journal.
