Choose one of the following topics. Your essay should have
no more than 2500 words. Consult the essay writing guidelines
here.
The pages of your essay must be stapled. Do not
use plastic folders.
- Are laws of nature discovered or created?
- Can only a realist give an adequate account of scientific
explanation?
- Can physics explain the notion of cause?
Final drafts must be submitted to my office FA113C by noon on 15
January. Only hard copies will be accepted. Each day of the delay in
the submission of final drafts will entail a reduction of five
points from the essay grade.
