| Devices and Sensors Research Group at Bilkent: |
|
In my group, our research focus is to propose, develop and demonsrate innovative
chip-scale opto-electronic, nanophotonic, and RF devices and sensors embedded
with functional nano- and micro-structures in hybrid architectures for the applications of
lighting, displays, imaging, communications, sensing, alternative energy
generation, and environmental decontamination.
Our research work spans device
conception, modeling, material synthesis and characterization, device
fabrication and testing, and system-level application.

Our research group consists of 20+ research students, researchers, and
visiting scholars from different disciplines and background including physics, applied physics,
electrical engineering, materials science, and chemistry. Our research work is
supported by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of
Turkey) [4], TUBA (Turkish Academy of Sciences) [1], ESF (European Science
Foundation) [1], European Union [2], NATO [2], and industrial [2] programs and
projects.
Dr. Demir is a winner of EURYI Award (European Young Investigator Award) and
TUBA-GEBIP Award (Turkish Academy of Sciences Distinguished Young Scientist
Award). The Demir Group is also a member of European Union PhOREMOST Network of
Excellence on Nanophotonics.
