Admission Requirements

1.
Online Application
  • Applicants must complete the online application through the university's application portal. First-time users will be prompted to create an account.
  • Application deadline for the Fall 2026 intake: June 7, 2026.

2. Transcripts & Bachelor’s Degree
  • Applicants must upload official transcript(s).
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50/4.00 (or its equivalent) is required.

3. Required Test Scores

English Proficiency
Applicants must submit
one of the following official English proficiency scores:
  • TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 87 (TOEFL iBT Home Edition and TOEFL MyBest Score results are not accepted). TOEFL scores are valid for two years, and must be valid at the time of registration.
  • IELTS Academic: minimum overall band score of 6.5, with at least 5.5 in each section; IELTS Academic One Skill Retake (OSR) results are not accepted. IELTS scores are valid for two years, and must be valid at the time of registration
  • Bilkent Proficiency Exam (PAE): minimum grade of C (PAE scores are valid for two years after graduation and must still be valid at the time of registration)
  • All English proficiency scores must be valid at the time of registration.

GRE/ALES
Applicants must submit
valid ALES or GRE scores as follows:
  • Turkish citizens: ALES (Verbal) score of at least 60 (ALES scores are valid for five years and must be valid at the time of registration)
  • Non-Turkish citizens: GRE General Test with a minimum combined score of 295 and an Analytical Writing score of at least 3.5 (GRE General Test at Home results are not accepted; GRE scores are valid for five years and must be valid at the time of registration).

4. References
  • Applicants must submit at least two letters of recommendation: (Referees must submit their letters through the online application system)

5. Statement of Purpose
  • Applicants must submit a 400-500 word statement of purpose outlining their academic and professional background, reasons for applying, research interests, career plans and fit with the program.

6. Other Documents
Applicants should also submit:
  • a CV or resume
  • Optional supporting documents (such as certificates or other relevant achievements), if applicable
